Supervision

I am offering supervision sessions for complementary health practitioners.

Supervision is a relationship designed to facilitate the development of therapeutic competence, and to protect the interests of clients. There are three strands within this work:

Educative - to help practitioners: To understand their clients better To become more aware of their own responses to clients To understand the dynamics of how they have interacted with clients To examine their interventions and the consequences of their interactions.

Supportive and restorative - A debriefing space to help practitioners with how they have been affected by the distress and/or pain of their clients.

Ethical - To check that therapists are acting ethically and that their work is in the best interests of their clients.

As a herbalist I understand that the supervisory needs of CAM practitioners are sometimes different to those of counsellors and psychotherapists. Sessions are structured according to the needs of the practitioner.
